Early-access terms
Last updated October 2026
These terms apply to early-access versions of our software — for now, the Omen and Bonker betas. By installing a beta build you agree to them. They are provided by Felix Niedermair, trading as NohmTones (see theimprint).
1. What you get
A beta build is free. You may install it on any computers you personally use and use it for any music or audio work, including commercial work. Everything you make with it is yours.
2. What you may not do
- share or re-upload the installer or plugin files, or pass on your download link — anyone who wants the beta can sign up themselves
- sell, rent or sublicense the software
- reverse-engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law expressly allows this
The software contains third-party components, such as fonts and open-source libraries, that are licensed under their own terms. Those terms are listed in the file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt that comes with every plugin, and nothing in these terms limits the rights they give you.
3. It is time-limited
Every beta build has an end date, shown in the plugin's settings menu. After that date the build may stop working. Newer beta builds, as long as the beta runs, are announced to the mailing list.
A beta build is not a licence for the finished product. Using the beta gives you no right to a release version, whether free or paid.
4. It is unfinished
Beta software is still in development. It may contain bugs, sound or behave differently between builds, and presets or sessions saved with one build may not open the same way in a later one. Please keep backups of your projects, and don't rely on a beta build for work you can't redo.
5. Feedback
Bug reports and suggestions are very welcome at[email protected] — please include the build stamp shown in the plugin's settings menu. We may use any feedback to improve our software, without owing you anything for it.
6. Warranty and liability
Because the beta is free and unfinished, it is provided as is, without any warranty that it works without errors or suits a particular purpose. We are not liable for damage caused by slight negligence, including lost data or projects. This does not limit our liability for intent or gross negligence, for personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
7. Privacy
The plugin makes no network connections and sends no data anywhere. How we handle your email address is described in ourprivacy notice.
8. Ending and changes
You can stop using the beta at any time by uninstalling it. We may end the beta programme, or change these terms for future builds; the terms that came with a build continue to apply to that build.
9. Law
These terms are governed by Austrian law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
